It's that simple. Don't go to the circus, or attend any event that you believe opposes your personal values.
I will never own a fur coat. I will never go to the circus to see the "tamed" animals being whipped and frightened into submission. My dollars will never be in their collection plate. If you give them your dollars, you are approving of the slavery of animals, and god knows what else.
Do you want to, occasionally, run until your legs fall off? Do you think, perhaps, that other "animals" enjoy this as well? The freedom of running is impossibly wonderful. I can't imagine that dogs feel it less than humans.
Do you ever wish that you could just get on a swing at the park and fly over the top bar in a giant circle? That was my goal as a child. Never happened. But I still remember the dream.
Do you want to live in a world where animals are subjected to cruelty for entertainment purposes? I do not. I want a world where NO ANIMAL lives in a cage. Where NO ANIMAL is hunted and/or killed for the perfume or makeup that I use. I will stop using makeup, stop using hair products, if that is the answer. Your voice counts. Speak out. This is your opportunity. Do not let it pass you by.
Well stated -- and same goes for marine animals -- whales and dolphins, captured and forced to perform for hours on end. These animals deserve to live free in the oceans, to raise their families, support their ecosystems. No animal deserves captivity for any reason -- not for zoos, circuses, medical or any kind of scientific testing.
