Mission
The mission of Hollywood Arts is to use arts, media and music to educate, improve self-esteem and develop critical life skills and independence that will provide homeless and foster care young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition into productive lives. Hollywood Arts offers artistic training, work-based mentoring, and skills development which lead to certification programs, secondary education, and industry internships.
Hollywood Arts serves young adults ages 18 to 26 who are homeless due to family, residential or economic instability or who have a history of foster care. Goals for each area of study are: Instill a basic mastery of vocational skills in the discipline area; Provide young people the opportunity to develop advanced thinking skills such as problem solving; observation and reflection; and critical thinking through arts-based learning; Develop life and emotional skills that will help high-risk young people change how they see themselves and transition into adulthood more successfully.
